Solo Exhibition / 개인전

〈Drift and Return〉 was created through the repetitive process of layering dots with batik dye on cupro fabric. Inspired by the form of bubbles during moments of washing, the work reflects fleeting thoughts and emotions, as well as the desire to preserve such transient experiences. The repetitive act of making symbolizes a return of attention to oneself, while the title refers to the moment when a scattered mind gradually finds its way back. 〈흩어지고 돌아오는〉은 큐프라 위에 바틱염색으로 점을 반복적으로 쌓아 올리는 과정을 통해 제작되었다. 작품은 씻는 시간 속 거품의 형상에서 출발하며, 쉽게 흩어지는 생각과 감정, 그리고 그 순간들을 붙잡고자 하는 기록의 의미를 담고 있다. 반복적인 제작 과정은 흐트러진 마음을 다시 자신에게로 돌려놓는 행위를 상징하며, 제목은 흩어졌다가 다시 스스로에게 돌아오는 순간을 의미한다.
〈Emerging〉 is a three-dimensional work created as an extension of Drift and Return. Inspired by the image of bubbles that possess form yet continuously change, the work explores transient states and lingering traces. By varying the number of layered materials, it investigates shifts in color, depth, and transparency. Through these layered structures, the work visualizes emotions and memories that briefly emerge before fading away. 본 작품은 형태를 가지지만 끊임없이 변화하는 거품의 이미지를 바탕으로, 사라지기 직전의 상태와 잔상을 표현하고자 하였다. 재료를 겹치는 층의 수를 달리하여 색과 표현의 변화를 실험하였으며, 층위가 만들어내는 깊이와 투명성을 통해 순간적으로 피어올랐다가 사라지는 감정과 기억의 흐름을 시각화하였다.

This exhibition is inspired by the movement of waves that endlessly emerge and disperse. Amid the constant pace of daily life, we often overlook fleeting emotions, memories, and subtle moments of change.

Through the cycle of appearance and disappearance found in waves, the artist focuses on transient moments and the traces they leave behind. The exhibition invites viewers to pause, reflect, and contemplate the emotions and memories that quietly pass through everyday life.

본 전시는 끊임없이 밀려오고 흩어지는 파도의 움직임에서 출발한다. 우리는 늘 앞으로 나아가야 한다는 압박 속에서 살아가며, 순간적으로 스쳐 지나가는 감정과 기억, 그리고 일상의 작은 변화들을 쉽게 놓치곤 한다. 파도는 끊임없이 생성과 소멸을 반복하지만, 그 과정 속에는 수많은 흔적과 변화가 존재한다. 작가는 이러한 파도의 움직임을 통해 사라짐 자체가 아니라 사라지기 직전의 순간과 그 이후에 남겨지는 잔상에 주목하고자 하였다. 본 전시는 무심히 지나쳐 온 감정과 기억의 흔적들을 다시 바라보며, 잠시 멈춰 자신을 관조하는 시간을 제안하고자 하였다.

Humans grow through their relationships with others, and SNS serve as a digital extension of these connections. This exhibition is inspired by the influence and experiences the artist gained from “Publizens” encountered through social networks. Using the metaphor of cultivating flowers and gardens, it explores the meaning of mutually supportive relationships and highlights the positive potential of SNS as a space for personal growth and connection.

인간은 타인과의 관계 속에서 성장하는 사회적 존재이며, SNS는 이러한 관계가 디지털 공간으로 확장된 형태이다. 본 전시는 SNS를 통해 만난 ‘퍼블리즌(Publizens)’으로부터 받은 영향과 경험을 바탕으로, 꽃과 정원을 가꾸는 은유를 통해 서로에게 긍정적인 영향을 주고받는 관계의 의미를 탐구한다. 이를 통해 SNS가 지닌 긍정적 기능과 가능성을 조명하고자 하였다.

<Virtual Gardens> views social media as a space for emotional connection and growth. Through the metaphor of a garden, the work depicts users nurturing one another through positive interactions and explores how digital relationships can foster empathy, support, and personal development. <Virtual Gardens>는 소셜 미디어를 정서적 연결과 성장의 공간으로 바라본 작품이다. 정원이라는 은유를 통해 사용자들이 서로에게 긍정적인 영향을 주고받으며 함께 성장하는 과정을 표현하였으며, 디지털 상호작용이 공감과 지지, 그리고 개인의 성장을 촉진할 수 있음을 탐구하고자 하였다.
<Infiltration: the Blooming Self, the Spreading Self> examines how accumulated digital traces and self-expressions on social media shape personal identity. The work visualizes the gradual formation of the self through repeated acts of recording and sharing. 본 작품은소셜 미디어에 축적된 기록과 표현이 개인의 정체성과 자아 형성에 미치는 영향을 다룬 작품이다. 반복되는 디지털 흔적들이 쌓여 자신만의 취향과 자기 역사를 형성하는 과정을 표현하고자 하였다.

파블리즌은 표현의 축적과 타인과의 상호작용, 그리고 다양한 기호와 경험을 통해 자신만의 정체성을 형성한다. SNS는 이러한 과정 속에서 수많은 자아가 공존하고 변화하는 공간이며, 우리는 그 안에서 자아의 다양한 형태를 발견할 수 있다. 본 작가는 이처럼 다채롭게 펼쳐지는 SNS의 세계를 조명하며, SNS가 지닌 긍정적 기능과 가능성을 표현하고자 하였다.

This exhibition is for consideration of the ambivalence of sns.

Through this exhibition, we should not rely on technological optimism that an advanced and automated modern society is unconditionally improving our lives and leading us to a better life, but we wanted to express our intention to reflect while trying to take only what we need according to our personal preferences and identity.
본 전시는 첨단화와 자동화가 인간의 삶을 필연적으로 향상시킨다는 기술 낙관주의에 대한 비판적 시각을 바탕으로, 개인이 자신의 취향과 정체성에 따라 필요한 가치를 주체적으로 선택하고 성찰하는 태도의 중요성을 탐구하고자 하였다.

범람(Flood of information), 660*320(mm), Mixed Media) This work is the second piece in a series exploring social media over-engagement, focusing on algorithmic structures and information overload. LED lighting and user units symbolize the desire for validation and identities shaped by external standards, while holographic panels represent the complex networks of information and relationships. Through these elements, the work reflects on the risk of losing an authentic sense of self within an information-saturated digital environment. 본 작품은 소셜 미디어 과몰입 시리즈의 두 번째 작품으로, 사용자를 끌어들이는 알고리즘 구조와 정보의 범람에 주목한다. LED 조명과 사용자 유닛은 인정 욕구와 외부 기준에 의해 형성되는 불안정한 정체성을 상징하며, 홀로그램 판은 복잡하게 얽힌 정보와 관계의 구조를 표현한다. 이를 통해 정보 과잉 환경 속에서 본질적 자아를 잃어갈 수 있는 현대인의 모습을 드러내고자 하였다.

This work portrays individuals who become deeply immersed in the idealized images presented through social media. Human-like units gathered within a transparent dome symbolize contemporary users who pursue conformity within digital environments, while the intense light at the center represents the idealized images that continuously attract their attention. The work suggests that uncritical fascination with these images can disrupt the balance between one's real and ideal self. Furthermore, the densely packed yet isolated units visualize the paradox of social media, where constant connectivity often coexists with feelings of isolation and the absence of meaningful relationships. 본 작품은 소셜 미디어 속 이상적 이미지에 과도하게 몰입한 사용자의 모습을 표현한 작품이다. 투명한 돔 안에 모여 있는 인간 형상의 유닛들은 소셜 미디어 공간 속에서 동질성을 추구하며 살아가는 현대인을 상징하며, 중심의 강렬한 빛은 사용자를 끊임없이 끌어당기는 이상적 이미지를 의미한다. 작품은 화려한 이미지에 대한 무비판적 동경이 현실의 자아와 이상적 자아 사이의 균형을 무너뜨릴 수 있음을 드러낸다. 또한 서로 밀집되어 있으면서도 고립된 유닛들의 모습을 통해, 과도한 연결 속에서도 깊은 관계를 형성하지 못하는 소셜 미디어의 역설적 특성을 표현하고자 하였다
<Trance: Immersion-Boundary> visualizes the psychological state of contemporary individuals who become deeply immersed in social media and begin to blur the boundaries between reality and virtuality. The transparent acrylic hemisphere symbolizes a digital space that appears to offer limitless possibilities while simultaneously confining its users within a specific environment. The similar color palette represents standardized identities and idealized self-images, while the shadow cast beneath the hemisphere reflects the isolation and internal conflicts caused by excessive immersion. Through these elements, the work explores how dependence on virtual environments can gradually distance individuals from their authentic selves.<Trance : 몰입-경>**은 소셜 미디어에 깊이 몰입하여 현실과 가상의 경계를 혼동하는 현대인의 심리 상태를 표현한 작품이다. 투명한 아크릴 반구는 무한한 가능성을 제공하는 듯 보이지만 사용자를 특정 환경 안에 가두는 소셜 미디어 공간을 상징한다. 반구 내부의 유사한 색조는 획일화된 정체성과 이상화된 이미지를, 아래로 드리운 그림자는 과도한 몰입으로 인해 발생하는 고립감과 내적 갈등을 나타낸다. 이를 통해 본 작품은 가상 세계에 의존하며 점차 본연의 자아를 잃어가는

본 전시는 여행을 통해 얻은 요소들이 새로운 공간 자체에서 비롯되는 것이 아니라, 공간과 환경을 바라보는 태도에서 비롯될 수 있다는 점에 주목한다. 이를 바탕으로 일상을 관조하는 것의 필요성과 중요성을 시각화하고 탐구하고자 하였다.

This exhibition visualizes and studies the necessity and importance of contemplating daily life based on the fact that the elements obtained from travel can come from attitudes toward space and the environment rather than new space.
본 전시는 여행을 통해 얻는 경험과 깨달음이 새로운 공간 자체보다 공간과 환경을 바라보는 태도에서 비롯될 수 있다는 점에 주목한다. 이를 통해 일상을 관조하고 성찰하는 것의 필요성과 중요성을 시각화하며 탐구하고자 하였다.

보통 속 특별함(The Extraordinary Within the Ordinary), 550*550(mm), Niddle Felt, Mixed Media This work focuses on the beauty of the sky that is often overlooked in everyday life. Using wool, it depicts the sky across different times of day—from dawn and daylight to sunset and night—encouraging viewers to relate the imagery to their own experiences. Three-dimensional balloon forms add a sense of movement and change, highlighting the ever-shifting nature of the sky. Through this work, the artist invites viewers to rediscover the extraordinary within ordinary daily landscapes and find moments of reflection and quiet joy.

This work combines domino-structured LEGO units, LED lighting, and video media to visualize the loss of self and identity confusion caused by excessive immersion in social media. The domino arrangement symbolizes herd behavior and the chain-like spread of trends and actions within social media networks. The dazzling LED lights represent the allure of idealized self-images and the desire for social approval, while the video component visualizes the continuous flow of information and relationships. Through these elements, the work portrays how individuals gradually lose their authentic selves while conforming to 본 작품은 도미노 구조의 레고 유닛, LED 조명, 비디오 매체를 결합하여 소셜 미디어 과몰입으로 인한 자아 상실과 정체성 혼란을 표현한 작품이다. 도미노처럼 연결된 구조는 타인의 행동과 유행을 무비판적으로 모방하는 군중 심리와 소셜 미디어의 연쇄적 확산 구조를 상징한다. LED 조명의 화려한 빛은 이상적 자아와 인정 욕구의 매혹을 나타내며, 비디오 매체는 끊임없이 변화하는 정보와 관계의 흐름을 시각화한다. 이를 통해 본 작품은 소셜 미디어 환경 속에서 타인의 시선에 맞춰 살아가며 점차 본연의 자아를 잃어가는 현대인의 모습을 드러내고자 하였다. 또한 본 작품은 소셜 미디어 과몰입으로 발생하는 내적 갈등을 탐구하는 시리즈의 출발점으로, 자아와 정체성의 문제를 환기하고자 한다.

교차로(Crossroads) Installation, Mixed Media Crossroads explores the coexistence of travel and everyday landscapes, inspired by the artist’s experience at a Japanese scramble crossing. A static scene created with wool felt is combined with projected video footage of people going about their daily lives, expressing the contrasting perspectives of travelers and local residents. Through this work, the artist aims to encourage viewers to perceive familiar everyday surroundings from a new perspective and to reflect upon the value of ordinary moments. <교차로>는 일본의 스크램블 교차로에서 얻은 경험을 바탕으로, 여행의 풍경과 일상의 풍경이 공존하는 모습을 표현한 작품이다. 양모 펠트로 제작한 정적인 풍경 위에 일상을 살아가는 사람들의 모습을 영상으로 투영하여, 여행자와 일상인의 서로 다른 시선을 나타내고자 하였다. 이를 통해 관람자가 익숙한 일상을 새로운 시선으로 바라보고 관조할 수 있는 계기를 마련하고자 하였다.
